Is a memory card reader necessary for installing UpToDate on my PDA device?

Yes, the memory card reader is required for the UpToDate program. While many other programs may be able to install directly through the PDA cradle, UpToDate is too large and complex for this to be possible. Instead, a memory card reader device is utilized to install information onto the memory card.

Why am I unable to choose a destination for my memory card during PDA installation?

If you see this screen, it may be caused by one of the following:

PDA setup no drive choice
  • Your memory card reader may not be securely plugged into the USB slot on your computer. Check and reinsert the plug into the USB slot.
  • The memory card may not be properly inserted into the card reader. Remove the card and reinsert it completely.
  • The memory card may be inserted into your PDA rather than the memory card reader. Remove the memory card from the PDA and place it into the card reader.
